Laura also enjoys helping pregnant and postpartum moms not feel alone in their struggles and gives them tools to find a sense of stability again.
Laura has a passion for combining social work and behavior-analytic principles in her work with children. She specializes in counseling children and teens with intellectual and developmental disabilities as well as anxiety, depression, social skills, emotional regulation, autism spectrum disorders, and adjustment disorders.
Laura is a licensed social worker (LSW) and board certified behavior analyst (BCBA) working toward a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) licensure. She received her Bachelors in Psychology from Loyola College in Maryland, Masters of Social Work from West Chester University, and completed the applied behavior analysis program through Florida Institute of Technology.
Behavior analysts recognize that we engage in behavior that “works” for us. Laura enjoys working together with clients and their families to identify treatment goals and develop interventions to help strengthen socially appropriate behavior and decrease problem behavior so that what “works” is behavior that we want to see. By doing so, Laura helps clients gain skills and build meaningful relationships, improving their quality of life. Interventions are research-based and are often aimed at behavior that affects not only the client but also creates meaningful change for their entire family.
