Our therapists specialize in therapy with children and teens. Many children are reluctant to talk directly about their feelings in counseling. Because of this, we use creative interventions to help engage them and provide a safe place to identify and express their feelings. Therapists use a variety of creative interventions such as art, play, and activities. We teach children and teens tools to help them feel capable of overcoming the difficulties in their life and improve their self-confidence.
Counseling for Anxiety
Anxiety is not always easy to identify in children and teens. Many times, it can look like physical complaints such as stomachaches, irritability, and refusal to do things. Their self-esteem is often impacted by not having the tools to work through uncomfortable situations. In counseling sessions, the strategies they learn will build self-confidence and instill the belief that they ARE capable of handling hard things. We work closely with parents to find better ways to respond and support their child with anxiety. Our practice also sees adults that have anxiety. Therapy can help you become more self-aware and understand your anxiety.
Family Counseling
“When the whole family grows, each member is better off.”
We offer family counseling for a wide range of difficulties. Our therapists are skilled at working with the whole family. Some of the common issues we help with are parent-child conflicts, difficulty communicating or expressing emotions, parenting issues, conflicts between siblings, adjusting to divorce and major changes, and dealing with chronic illness or death in the family.
Counseling for Parents
Our therapists work with parents that have children with anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, and difficulty managing emotions. We can help you learn better ways to respond to your child and strengthen your relationship with them. Our practice also sees parents for their own individual counseling whether it’s related to depression, anxiety, relationship issues, or wanting to grow personally.
Pregnancy and Postpartum Counseling
Feeling alone on this new journey of navigating life after having a baby? Having thoughts that you’re a failure as a parent? Not good enough? These are common thoughts and feelings that postpartum parents experience. You are not alone with this. Our therapists also see pregnant women that are needing support with the many changes and complications that occur during pregnancy.
